Yes it is cold outside with the wind but honestly once out of the wind the sunshine is really warm. With this sunshine and longer days, we can definitely say that Spring has finally arrived. A wide range of Spring flowers are out from the Cowslips as shown left to Bluebells to the very easily recognizable Dandelion. These flowers are brightening up the countryside and are attracting wonderful insects from the bees to the butterflies. These make you forget about the dreary days of Winter. If you get chance, listen to the bird song in the morning. The birds are starting to pair up and some are even nesting - Blackbirds and Blue Tits. Some have chicks already as I have seen the Moorhens with their little chicks. The migrants are coming back, first their were the Chiffchaffs and in the last week the Willow Warblers have arrived back in the Caistor area. Other signs of Spring to look out for are the Hedgehogs and tadpoles swimming around in ponds. With all this Springtime activity, it is a great time to do survey work and KJ Ecology Ltd can do a range of survey work for your next building project. We carry out initial surveys from Buildings to land to protected species surveys. If you require a survey, please call us on 07807 655237 or email on kevin@kjecology.co.uk
