With the dry warm weather Spring is marching on. The Summer migrant birds are returning with Barn Swallow and Black-caps back in the Caistor area. Besides looking out for birds and animals it is also a good time to appreciate the many wildflowers that are coming out now from Bluebells to Ransoms (Wild Garlic) to Cowslips to Greater Stitchwort etc. Even the trees are flowering with both Wild Cherry and Bird Cherry in blossom. These all attract a wide range of insects and if you want to test your eyesight, see how many types you can see. The Wild Cherry blossom pictured was one of many on the ground and is the result of Bullfinches nipping behind the flower to try and get the dormant fruit body.
Spring is a great time to be out and doing survey work, so if you need any doing, do not hesitate and give us a call on 07807 655237 for a chat.
